Description

Knowing the number of visitors is certainly an important factor for each owner of a domain and web site. A simple counter can be used to track the number; but, in the event that more detailed information is required, the counter will not do the job. For instance, the counter is not able to distinguish several "regenerations" of a page by one user - it will count each download of the page. The counter will not provide the link data either and this is very important information when evaluating the efficiency of links placed on various search engines and in advertisement banners. All the mentioned information is available on Web Server. In addition to that, you will be notified of page access errors that can be used to detect non-existing link. Statistic will be displayed in the browser's window after entering the URL "http://www.domain.cz/_stat".

Domain Statistic Page Description

• Management - selection of a statistic of a particular day or month that you're interested in. The statistic is evaluated on daily bases; always after midnight for the previous day.
• Headline - type of statistic, domain and date of statistic. The selection of date, period and language can be made here.
• Quantity of Bytes sent and received - allows you to get a picture on the domain's traffic regarding the server load.
• Time relation of requests - graph of the total number of requests on the domain in certain span of time (hour, day). This feature allows you to track the time relation of requests such as an increase in requests after press advertisement publishing, etc. This graph depicts all the requests on the domain; that means requests for all programs and files even for those that do not exist.
• E-mail messages - quantity and data volume of the transmitted mail.
• Turnout from URL addresses - graph that shows the number of visitors coming from different URLs. You can easily see which banners or search engines provide you with the best turnout. This graph shows only the requests for points of entry to WEBs (or subWEBs), that means it shows the requests for files like DEFAULT.HTM, INDEX.HTM, DEFAULT.HTML, DEFAULT.ASP, DEFAULT.ASPX.
• Turnout from IP addresses - graph that shows the number of visitors coming from different IP addresses. Even though the number of visitors might be great, you can clearly see here that a large part of it comes from a single IP address and such like information. • Search engines efficiency evaluation - graph that shows the number of visitors coming from major search engines. Only monthly evaluation is available. This graph shows percentage representation of the major search engines in the WEB visitor turnout.
• Turnout sorted according to user's browser - important information when creating WWW pages and applications.
• Turnout sorted to user's operating system (platform) - important information when creating WWW pages and applications.
• Elective time relations of number of requests for particular files - graph that shows the number of requests for particular files in certain span of time. These charts are very helpful in case of subWEBs when there is a need for separate evaluation of the turnout. When running banners, the graph information can also be utilized to ascertain the frequency of banner's display.
  
• Error tracking
  The statistic includes a feature that allows tracking and evaluating errors in domain operation. The error information is not available in an HTML document - all errors of all domains on the server are logged on daily bases in a group LOG and are evaluated by the webmaster. In case that an error is recorded, the administrator of that particular domain is informed. Should the webmaster track the errors manually, he would have to browse through several dozens of text files of the size of several dozens of kB; practically an impossible task. Our program transforms that quantity of data into a single-digit kB size file that can be browsed through in no time.
